When considering the need for medications, many people have strong feelings about whether they are an option in treatment. We respect the fact that you know yourself best and that adding a medication regimen to your treatment is best left up to you. However, if you are unsure, or if you and your therapist have discussed the potential benefit and you would like to learn more, we urge you to seek out a consultation with our board certified psychiatrist, Dr. Bianca Karris. We invite you to ask questions about any medications that may be recommended for you, should you have any concerns about safety, benefits and risk. When it is indicated, medications can augment and speed up your recovery. If you are only taking medications, we urge you to give talk therapy a try as well, as research has shown that the combination is often superior to either treatment alone.
